I design and make hand crafted lathe turnings from wood that nobody else does…unique, interesting and always different is what I strive for. Have a look at yo-yos for example…a simple and easy to understand toy. There are literally hundreds of aluminum bearing axle yo-yo manufacturers in the world, all great at what they do, making a very high quality, but a relatively expensive toy. And all are building essentially the exact same design, over and over again. So what’s different about my lathe turnings? No two of my yo-yos ever look exactly the same; which by the way, is why you won’t see my yo-yos in retail shops…none of whom want to sell one-of-a-kind low volume products. Most of my yo-yos are made from wood...some exotic hard to find wood, and most are old-school fixed axle designs. And some are even made from a single piece of wood, with no glue holding the axle and sides together...which takes time and skill to make.
