Bandsaw box made from maple, black walnut, and ebony
A complete original with a daring concept. The ebony added on the top of the box is angled and grows wider as it approaches the front of the box which is a bold move and adds enormous character and highlights original craftsmanship. This box is deeper than usual and has plenty of storage for jewelry or trinkets. It was made to look as if a block of walnut was sandwiched between two slices of maple but there is a lot more going on here but you'll have to find that out for yourself. I finished the box with 4 coats of gloss polyurethane and wet sanded with lemon oil for a smooth and lustrous sheen. The drawers are double flocked and are thick and lush. The box measures 8 inches tall x 11 and a half inches wide x 5 and 3 quarter inches deep.
