Bandsaw box made from wenge, birdseye maple, ebony, and plywood
A beautifully handcrafted box made from the finest hardwoods and finished to perfection. I am always looking to create contrast and it doesn't get more distinct than here. i used solid wenge to get a dark chocolate tone and set it against some of the lightest birdseye i could get my hands on. I added strips of ebony between the joints on top because I wanted to. Haha but seriously I was intrigued by the concept. The box is capable of storing trinkets and jewelry with ease and would make a lovely addition to a desk or end table. I finished the box with 4 coats of satin polyurethane and the rubbed on 2 coats of Danish oil for a lustrous topcoat. The box measures 8 and 3 quarter inches tall x 7 and a half inches wide x 5 inches deep.
