Bandsaw box made from ambrosia maple and western maple
A neat little box made from ambrosia maple from a tree in my backyard that fell last winter 2015. This box has the burrow holes from the ambrosia beetles that infested the tree and weakened it. The beetle infestation causes some amazing grain patterns that are quickly becoming very sought after by woodworkers. The box would look great on a desk or side table The ambrosia branch is set upon a piece of western maple which is routed with a groove .I lined the drawers with flock and i double lined each drawer so each is extra velvety. I finished the box with 4 coats of gloss polyurethane sanded between coats for a superior sheen. The box measures 6 inches tall x 6 and a quarter inches wide x 4 inches deep.
