Pale Aqua Sea Glass and Double Link Bracelet
This Gray and Green Sea Glass bracelet features double links of natural niobium paired with pale aqua sea glass. The sea glass has been handpicked from the North Seas Shorelines in England, and has been drilled with 3mm holes and chain was made to suspend sea glass every inch or so. My handmade niobium hook clasp has a nacre bead that slide s down to help hold the hook in place. A little fish (in its mouth) holds the pickup loop for the clasp. Each piece of sea glass is pale aqua and close in shade to each other. Genuine Sea glass begins as normal shards of broken glass that are then persistently tumbled and ground until the sharp edges are smoothed and rounded. In this process, the glass loses its slick surface but gains a frosted appearance over many years. Old sea glass is rarely sharp edged in angular designs and usually has an elliptical shape with at least one side being slightly in-curved. Sometimes there are creases in the glass, ancient bottle or plate shapes that were not smoothed over the years. There is only one true type of "genuine sea glass" that can be produced and that is by the saline seas and oceans, naturally. Pieces of glass from broken bottles, broken tableware or even shipwrecks are rolled and tumbled in the ocean for years. Sea Glass is all aged naturally in the salty ocean and from marine erosion it has its own finish that naturally occurs from the saline in the water. It should never be confused for beach glass which has its own finish from sand and the mineral content of fresh water, yielding a different luster than sea glass. Neither Sea nor Beach glass should be mistaken as insignificant. Both types are highly praised, and by collectors, they are considered to be environmental gems. Lightweight and strong niobium is hypoallergenic. The niobium links are saw cut and in two different sizes and connect right through the holes in the sea glass.
