These beautiful sterling silver hoop earrings feature rare yellow African "Don Don Sole" Wedding Beads (also sometimes known as "Mali Sweeties"). These colorful glass beads were made in Bohemia (now the Czech Republic) between 1800 and 1940. They were traded into West Africa where they were often sewn onto fabric, woven into elaborate hair styles, and incorporated into jewelry. Traditionally, they were presented to and worn by brides on their wedding day. Augmenting these rare beauties are two round dyed red coral beads. This is a one-of-a-kind piece, so you are wearing an original work of art.
