Wood Fired Shino Bottle - Pottery Bud Vase
This bottle was thrown by me on the pottery wheel. After it dried and was fired once, it got glazed with a shino glaze. I chose this traditional glaze because it loves the wood kiln, and that's where this piece was destined. Using wood as a fuel source means you have a lot of ash ending up in the kiln. This melts in the heat and forms a glaze, creating beautiful and unique results every firing. The flecks and green drips are spots where ash landed and melted. The orange color is caused by the open flame inside the kiln. This bottle is the perfect size for a small bouquet or simply on its own. It measures about 5" tall I will happily combine shipping.
