Wood Fired Bottle
This little bottle was thrown by me on the potter's wheel. I like to let the clay have a say in each of my bottles, but that unique lip wasn't enough for this guy-he needed a moon shaped belly button and some stars too. After being fired once, to give it strength, I glazed it and refired in a wood kiln. Firing with an open flame means each firing and its results are different. Because at the high temperature the ash from the fuel also melts, forming a glaze, each firing has another variable. This little bottle caught a lot of ash in its belly and on its back, creating the green color. This bottle measures just under 4" tall I will happily combine shipping.
