Wood Fired Pottery Bottle
This vase or bottle was thrown by me on the potter's wheel. Before I moved it off to dry I gave it some personality with three belly buttons. When it was ready to be fired I glazed it simply, with a white shino inside (to make it watertight) and nothing on the outside surface. The beautiful browns and spots came from being fired in a wood kiln. Using wood produces ash, which at firing temperatures melt into a beautiful glaze. The patch of lichen is a heavier deposit of ash. This piece measures about 6.5" tall I will happily combine shipping.
