Hooded Sweater Jacket
This upcycled Katwise inspired hooded sweater jacket was made by me using cashmere and wool sweaters in shades of pink, gray, and green. The top of the hoodie is a light pink cabled cashmere mix sweater size XL and I cut the sleeves off about half way up then added new sleeves that I created by sewing strips of four different sweaters together making a tube. The hood part of this hoodie was made from all of the same colors of the rest of the hoodie but the sections are cut more narrow than the ones on the sleeves. The bottom half of the hoodie is wool in a white, gray and red argyle pattern on the front with a solid gray on the back. My style of sewing is different because I don't serge the seams, because I don't own a serger, I sew each seam with a straight stitch and then a zigzag stitch. This hoodie has a zip closure which is from an old blue hooded sweatshirt and you will see some bits of yellow fabric at the top of the zipper which was from the hooded sweatshirt. All of the sweaters were felted by washing them and drying them on hot. I would recommend hand washing and laying it flat to dry this hoodie to help keep its shape. You can also use an iron if needed. Measurements are approximate and taken with the item laying flat. Armpit to armpit: 21" Length: 26 1/2" Sleeve: 23" Thanks for stopping by!
