Tequila Buffet
TEQUILA BUFFET tm Elevates drinking o shots to an art form. ASHEVILLE N.C. – Woodworker Robert Lock imagines himself heels up on a sandy Caribbean beach toasting shots of Patron served on his creation, the TEQUILA BUFFET, but the eye-catching design of the rustic serving tray is inspired by North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains The platter is handcrafted from beams of wormy American chestnut salvaged from dismantled barns and homes of the southern Appalachians. Tiny holes bored by insects are common in the milled lumber of American chestnut "I love the process of turning rough lumber into something beautiful," says Lock. "I'm always amazed at what can be done with something so ordinary." The Tequila Buffet is no exception. TEQUILA BUFFET is an affordable home furnishing gift or wedding present. What makes it unique is that there's a level of design that brings it into the realm of art. The one-and-a-half inch thick board is a half-foot wide and 20 inches across. In addition to a depression cut to fit a pint of Tequila (bottle not included), the TEQUILA BUFFET comes with a cutting board, salt cups, paring knife, spoons, shot glasses and dedicated notches to stash Tequila's little helpers: lime and salt. Lock's ability to transform wood to art is a product of three decades of experience designing furniture, cabinet making and replicating historic millwork with European craftsmen in the finest woodworking shops of Chicago.
