Baby boy owl quilt in blue and brown, owl nursery decor. Toddler blanket, crib quilt, finished and ready to ship. 36” by 44” -baby/ toddler size. This is a quiltcountry original design. I collect fabric and scrap quilts are my favorite kind of quilt A little bit of many different fabrics, a real one of a kind quilt. While I repeat the pattern, and my owls are similar, the fabric I include in each quilt are never all the same. Each block and quilt is individually pieced. This process creates a lovable baby quilt, made soft and light to carry around. It will also look great hanging in a little boys nursery or draped over a crib. It is a true scrap quilt made with fabrics from modern prints. plaids, dots, owls, monkeys and other nursery prints prints to add interest. I created one adorable blue owl and then surrounded him with blocks made from all the many little boy prints I could find in soft blues and browns. The blue owl is appliqued onto the blue gingham background using a premium fusible web and then edge stitched with a blanket machine stitch. 100% cotton fabric -front and back. The backing is a soft blue gingham. I used Hobbs Heirloom 100% cotton batting for a soft drape and antique finish. This batting will shrink up to 4% when washed, giving the quilt a soft cuddly feel. It is quilted with a blue nursery variegated cotton thread in a meandering design. The edges are (currently being) bound with a double fold binding in a blue textured print fabric that is machine stitched to the front and hand stitched to the back. This quilt was, designed and sewn in my cat free, smoke free home. I do have one very special cocker spaniel.
