The beautiful color formations in the gemstone are the foundation of my jewelry design. My pieces usually start with a gemstone, and then evolve into compositions in which the gemstone remains the primary subject. I use varying techniques including wire wrapping and beading to design and create each individual piece of jewelry. No two pieces are the same and I do not make multiples of any design. To me, art is a synthesis of my personal feelings, the gemstone and colors that inspire me and my materials and techniques. Serenity and uniqueness are my primary goals. My goal as a teacher is to help others achieve their goals by providing thorough, easy to understand tutorials so they can advance their individual creative skills. I actually began my journey into jewelry making in 2004 when I decided a strand of pearls I got after my mom passed away needed to be restrung. Did you know that cost up to $10 per knot at that time! When I found that out I decided I would learn to do that myself. At first I just bought glass bead mixes at the local craft shops and then went on to online shopping. Many times, being brand new to online shopping for gemstones, I would purchase a strand of beads thinking they were nice sized only to find out they were tiny. After a few misfires like that I learned how to tell the sizes. Then came the fun part, I began selling my jewelry. At first only to co-workers but then one of them told me about Etsy and I was off.
