" Portia" a Pumpkin Folk Art Pumpkin Head Doll ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Incredibly sweet, so lovingly quaint- this small pumpkin head stands a about 5.25" tall from base to star with arm width of about 3". "Portia" begged to remain primitively faceless, that way she can thoughtfully reflect your expression every time you catch a glimpse of her or choose to pleasantly converse. She is dressed in vintage quilt with a shawl fashioned out of an antique 1825 American hand woven coverlet. Her head & wired arms are hand painted fabric- distressed & aged for extra timeworn charm. She carries a handmade pantry box & a primitive handmade star staff. "Portia" is adorn with twig stem & natural wild grapevine & hand stitched flyspeck detail. She is stuffed with cloth for weight & feel. For a timeless, storybook splash of "cozy & comfort", display her lovingly in your primitive home- in your book case or on your windowsill, put her on a pottery plate & surround her with pods & natural findings. Display her on your Thanksgiving sideboard for a magical touch- let her oversee your cranberries or pumpkin pie. Dusted with spices- "Portia" looks & smells like Autumn but you will want to keep her around all year long... she's perfect company for anyone who appreciates vintage textiles and has a infinite weakness for sweet, little pumpkin heads. Intended for decorative display, not for children. This artisan's work has been selected several times by "Early American Life" magazine & listed in their "Directory of Traditional American Crafts".
