Sometimes we have to stop and admire things that are not usually considered beautiful. I found this lower jaw bone while wandering through the woods in New Glarus, Wisconsin. After washing it up good, I decided to make it into something wearable. There is something intriguing about the smooth bone and the delicate teeth. It seemed a waste that this kind of detail would be left unnoticed. I have combined it with turquoise and brass beads and strung it on a tan leather cord to make an earthy piece that is sure to catch the eye.
