Hand Turned Brazilian Tulipwood Bottle Opener
Everybody needs a bottle opener, especially now that most of the newer beers don’t have twist off caps. This is a unique new style of bottle opener that is patented and manufactured in the US. This heavy duty opener is machined from solid 304 Stainless Steel, so it will last a lifetime. It's also different in that it can be stood on it's end. The handle is hand turned from Brazilian Tulipwood. Tulipwood is an exotic wood native to the tropical region of South America, mainly Brazil. It is a hard and heavy wood, with a rather fine texture and is considered a true rosewood. The tree itself is only found in a narrow geographical area, and it’s small enough to be considered a shrub: typically yielding very small and narrow boards. Because of these limitations, Tulipwood is generally reserved for very small specialty wood items and accent pieces. The opener is glued into the handle with high strength epoxy so it is permanently secured. The opener measures approximately 1 1/4” diameter by 5” long. After turning and sanding to 400 grit, multiple coats of wipe-on varnish have been applied for durability. The finish is completely food safe. If cleaning is required, hand wash with mild detergent, rinse and dry.
