This is a very handy size cutting board that you will find yourself reaching for every time you need to cut something up quickly. And it’s attractive enough to keep on display in your kitchen. Just prop it up on the counter against the backsplash or hang it on the wall using the provided hole in the handle. This cutting board is hand made from Goncalo Alves. Native to Central and South America this exotic hardwood is considered by many to be the most beautiful of the tropical hardwoods. It is very dense and rot resistant and has long been used for small wood specialty objects such as pool cues, archery bows, knife and gun handles, and jewelry boxes. The cutting area measures 10 by 7 ½ inches and the overall length with the handle is 14 3/4 inches. The board is 7/8 inch thick and is finished with boiled linseed oil. To clean the board, hand wash with light detergent and water, rinse and hand dry. Do not submerge this board in your dishwashing water. If you want to sanitize the board, wipe it down with a vinegar and water solution and let this set for a few minutes. Then wipe off the solution and let dry. To maintain the finish, you should occasionally wipe on a coat of linseed oil, let this soak in for a few minutes, then wipe off the excess and let dry for 24 hours.
