Merry Christmas Tree- Quilted Throw
This hand-made quilt is a fun throw to add charm to your home for the holidays. The colors range from pinks, reds, greens, and creams to burnt red cabins in the snowy forest on the back. It is a "scrappy" design with three sizes of blocks in it. Merry Christmas Tree-throw- boasts 2 borders, an inner red print sashing to outline the quilt and a lovely green border to frame the quilt. This would show beautifully folded over the top of a couch or over the end of a chair. It is a nice size to cuddle on the couch with and long enough to tuck your toes in. All quilting is done free motion, by hand, on a long-arm machine by a local Tulsa, Oklahoma artisan, Lisa Hamilton-Harris. Notice the details in the green border and on each tree. There is also some machine embroidery on several of the trees or blocks using different colored thread. Nothing is done by computer so this is truly a hand-made quilt. You will note the high quality of this quilt evidenced especially by the well-matched corners in the piecing and in the overall quilting design. The binding is double folded and machine sewn to add durability to the quilt. I do not prewash my quilts as it is an unnecessary wear on an item most want as an heirloom. Even an occasional "airing" (hanging outside) can prolong the need for a wash. However, you may prefer to wash it sooner as it will add softness and a traditional beauty to its overall look--it is a personal preference I leave up to the buyer. It should be washed on a delicate/low spin cycle on COLD. I purchase only high-quality 100% cotton fabrics from quilt shops so dye bleeding has never been an issue. Still, I HIGHLY recommend washing your quilt with 2 to 3 Shout Color Guard sheets on its FIRST washing just to be safe. I also use quality cotton batting and thread to ensure your quilt will last for many years. I do hope you will consider purchasing this quilt. I've put many hours of careful work into making it for you. A handmade quilt is truly an investment. I thank you for considering one of my quilts and if there are any questions I can answer to make you more comfortable in your purchase, please let me know. - Theresa
