Sawdust in the South transforms new and reclaimed timber and materials into custom designs. You only need to look through their portfolio to see that it’s apparent that they both have a passion for woodwork and design. Each piece is designed to carefully preserve and highlight the natural beauty and character of the wood. Rob began to show an interest in woodworking as a teenager in Charleston, West Virginia when he built his first creation, a computer desk for his bedroom, with the help of his grandfather. At the age of 23, Rob left for Parris Island, South Carolina in his journey to become a United States Marine. Just before his enlistment in the Marine Corps ended, he met his wife in Charlotte, North Carolina, where the two now live with their two children. The name Sawdust in the South stemmed from a variety of sources: The geographic location of the family and the business The massive amounts of sawdust that have been left behind in the garage as a result of the creation process
