Heavy wolf on base with three pup heads nestled below. A symbol of guardianship, ritual and loyalty, the majestic wolf may offer the quintessential wilderness sound: the haunting and beautiful howl. Wolves belong to the same family of animals as dogs and some species are considered endangered. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has restored gray wolves into Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico and Arizona, and it is believed wolves have begun to migrate into Colorado from both the north and south. Wolves have the ability to make quick & firm emotional attachments and often need to trust their own instincts. Thus, they teach us to do the same, to trust our hearts and minds in order to take control of our lives. Each of my figurines is hand crafted using 100% lead-free Britannia metal, known as pewter. Britannia metal (also called britannium or Britannia ware) is a specific type of pewter alloy, favoured for its silvery appearance and smooth surface. The composition is typically about 92% tin, 6% antimony, and 2% copper. I carefully pour and finish each piece so the final product is something you will treasure for many years. I've been casting pewter for over 30 years and, to many, this is seen as a lost art. The pictured piece is a very close example of the final product you will receive. As I hand-cast each figurine, there may be minor differences between the item pictured and the one you receive; I consider this to be one of the many unique benefits of purchasing a hand-crafted item. If you are interested in purchasing multiples of any of the items in my shop, please contact me, as I am happy to accommodate!
