Skier pewter figurines, hand cast
Skiing is the most popular pastime in Colorado! With the Colorado Rockies containing over 50 peaks with elevations in excess of 14,000', lovingly referred to as '14-ers', and dozens of world class ski resorts, Colorado helps many visitors and locals alike make happy skiing memories. When you purchase one of these hand-cast pewter skiers, you can look at them and remember all the great times (and perhaps a few epic spills!) you've had sailing down the mountain with the wind in your face. This listing is for the pair of skiers. Each skier is mounted on a marble base. If you prefer the 'Colorado' word decal removed from the bottom, just list this in the 'Notes to Seller' section when you purchase. This hand cast pewter figurine is created in my small studio, located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I'm located in Colorado's playground, Summit County, at 9,000, where winter is never far away! Each of my figurines is hand crafted using 100% lead-free Britannia metal, known as pewter. Britannia metal (also called britannium or Britannia ware) is a specific type of pewter alloy, favoured for its silvery appearance and smooth surface. The composition is typically about 92% tin, 6% antimony, and 2% copper. I carefully pour and finish each piece so the final product is something you will treasure for many years. I've been casting pewter for over 30 years and, to many, this is seen as a lost art. The pictured piece is a very close example of the final product you will receive. As I hand-cast each figurine, there may be minor differences between the item pictured and the one you receive; I consider this to be one of the many unique benefits of purchasing a hand-crafted item. If you are interested in purchasing multiples of any of the items in my shop, please contact me, as I am happy to accommodate!
