This is a beautiful handmade Turkish drop spindle. This is the smallest size that I make at the moment. My wife actually can fit this little spindle in her eyeglasses case when its taken apart along with her glasses. The cross pieces or whorl are made from 1/4 sawn White Oak and the spindle is made from Walnut. Turkish spindles are very fun to spin on and you can even create a center pull ball as you are spinning. This spindle weighs about a quarter to half an ounce and is suitable for spinning very fine yarns. The cross arms on this spindle are about 2.5 inches and the spindle is just over three inches tall.
