This is a beautiful handmade Turkish drop spindle. This is the smallest size that I make at the moment. My wife actually can fit this little spindle in her eyeglasses case when its taken apart along with her glasses. The cross pieces or "whorl" are 2 1/2" wide and handmade from Amazon Rosewood. The spindle is hand turned from Walnut and is approximately 3" long. Turkish spindles are very fun to spin on and you can even create a center pull ball as you are spinning. This spindle weighs roughly 8.0 grams and is suitable for spinning very fine yarns.
