This is a beautiful handmade Turkish drop spindle. The cross pieces or "whorl" are handmade from Bloodwood and the spindle is hand turned from Walnut. Turkish spindles are very fun to spin on and you can even create a center pull ball as you are spinning. This spindle weighs approx. 18.4 grams and is suitable for spinning finer yarns. The whorl on this spindle is about four inches and the spindle is just over five inches long.
