Midnight Sun
The midnight sun is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the local summer months in places north of the Arctic Circle on Summer Solstice or south of the Antarctic Circle on Winter Solstice, when the sun remains visible at the local midnight. Suminagashi black, gray and white paper is the back ground on the canvas. A paper cast sun is painted a iridescent white and rests on partial circle. This piece was created for an Annual 30/30 challenge which meant creating 30 pieces in 30 days.
