Black, Brown, Gray, Ice Blue Boucle' NECK WARMER SCARF, Large Black Buttons Handmade Crochet Knit Thick Lightweight Buttoned Cowl, Ready to Ship
Black, Brown, Blue, Gray NECK WARMER SCARF, Buttoned Cowl with Large Black Buttons, 27.5" x 5" x 3/8" Handmade crochet boucle' neck warmer with large black buttons. I crocheted with two strands of yarn to make a thicker crocheted fabric, but the warmer is still very lightweight. The color is called Tundra Tones and includes black, dark brown, medium brown, dark gray, medium gray, and a light ice blue-gray. Due to the self-striping nature of this yarn, each new warmer I make will look a little different than any other, which means the one you receive may not match up to the photos exactly but will look very similar I will only be able to make a few of these since the Santa Fe yarn line has been discontinued. This particular boucle' yarn is very unusual in that it has some elasticity in the strand, meaning the scarf has more stretch and "spring-back" than most scarves made with regular yarn (it will keep its original shape better than other scarves). This yarn is somewhat stiff when new, but becomes so much softer when washed. • Yarn Content: 85% Acrylic/15% Polyester • Yarn Brand & Color: Loops & Threads Santa Fe in Tundra Tones • Approximate Length (includes overlap): 27.5 inches/71 cm • Approximate Width: 5 inches/12.7 cm • Thickness: 3/8 inch/ .95 cm --Weight: 2.5 oz / 70g Neck warmers are the perfect alternative to scarves when you need to keep your neck warm but don't want all the extra length that a traditional scarf offers. Neck warmers fit really well underneath coats and jackets, and add a little extra color and interest to a winter outfit. They can easily be put on and taken off without messing up hair or make-up. You can wear one with a solid-colored crew-neck or v-neck sweater for extra warmth or to create a turtleneck look without the actual turtleneck. They are great for skiing, hiking, walking, or any outdoor winter activity since they can't possibly get in your way like a traditional scarf might. This warmer will fit best on those with a neck size between 12 and 14 inches/30 and 35.5 cm. The warmer is fastened in front with two large black resin buttons. The spaces between crochet stitches are the “built-in” buttonholes. The pictures show just a few ways the warmer can be fastened: the buttons can be placed in different areas, offering a little creativity with the way you’d like to wear this short scarf. CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Hand wash only in cold water and air dry. If washing on a delicate machine cycle, I think it's okay to put the scarf in a lingerie bag and then air-dry after. Avoid washing with heavier garments that cause friction. If using washing machine, avoid washing with items that have zippers, buttons, etc that may snag the yarn loops and pull on them or make the yarn fray. Because of the polyester, this yarn can melt if dried in a dryer. Note: All yarns come with some degree of "factory residue" that makes the yarn feel a little stiff. This will disappear with normal handling and/or the first wash, bringing out the true softness of the yarn. This yarn is especially stiff when new but does soften up nicely after washing. U.S. SHIPPING: I keep shipping to a minimum and offer First Class Package as the best value for price & speed. For multiple orders, I often use Priority Mail. For Ready to Ship items, I'll ship within two business days. For items made to order, I'll ship as soon as I have the scarf finished (within the time-frame stated in the listing title). I use the PayPal/USPS integrated shipping system whenever possible, so you will be provided with a delivery confirmation number by email from PayPal and/or Aftcra. Most First Class packages take two to five days to be delivered. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I always combine shipping for multiple orders. I most commonly use USPS First Class International for shipping outside of the US. First Class International may take a longer time to arrive than other services, but it's much more affordable than Priority International (which usually runs $25 or more for a few ounces). Delivery time for international packages is usually 5 to 15 business days. Customs, bad weather, or national holidays can sometimes slow down a package with the occasional shipment taking around 30 days to arrive. This only happens to about 5% of my international shipments. (: As of January 27th, 2013, USPS has raised prices for First Class International, in some cases almost doubling the amount they used to charge. On a positive note, they are starting to include tracking and delivery confirmation as part of the First Class service. They are beginning with Canada and will be adding other countries in the future. International Buyers Please Note: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying. PAYMENTS: I accept PayPal. If you don't have a PayPal account, you will still be able to pay with a credit or debit card through PayPal. You can also pay from your bank account using an E-check (also through the PayPal system), but I won't be able to ship until the check has cleared, PayPal says it's okay to ship and allows me to print out a label. RETURNS: For now, I am not accepting returns, but am completely open to resolving any problems that may occur. I feel the best strategy is to head off any problems before they even happen. If you have any questions whatsoever about any items I am selling, please ask. Thanks for looking! (:
