When the COVID-19 virus hit, Neighborly Brands closed it’s offices and all corporate employees have been working from home since the middle of March. Shortly thereafter, Governor Ralph Northam of Virginia enacted Stay at Home measures. Not being able to do much of anything else in my off hours, I decided to start sewing face masks to donate to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk. They had a need for masks for patients, their parents and siblings who wanted to visit the hospital. I purchased fun brightly colored Disney Character fabrics and went to work! In 4 weeks time I had sewn 64 masks and was ready to deliver them. Since I myself am an at-risk person, I asked the Ops Manager of our local Mosquito Joe franchise if his team would mind delivering the masks. They were excited to be included! Today I continue to sew masks and am now using the proceeds from the sales to continue purchasing fabric and supplies so that I can continue to donate masks to those who need them most. My next goal is to create 100 masks for Nursing Homes. Please join me by making a purchase today. Let’s Stitch Together! Thank you.
