Introduction
La Soucique: Guernsey patois, a derivation of French and English. It is a state of being. Timeless. Guernsey is a land of timeless beauty, a small island in the English Channel, where the sand and surf are constant inspirations. I can only endeavor to imbue this timeless beauty in my pieces. I adore fine and .925 silver with settings of sea glass and sea-inspired gemstones.
Payment Policy
PAYMENT OPTIONS: * We accept payments thru PayPal, which is a secure online payment system. For more information, visit www.paypal.com. * You can make purchases with your credit card without having a PayPal account (you do, however, need an Aftcra account). *If you require a Layaway option, please convo me for more information. *If you would like to pay by check, please contact me to make arrangements. Check payments must be received within 7 days of reserving an item or the order will be considered cancelled and reserved items will be made available to the general public. I will ship orders paid by check as soon as the check has been deposited and cleared.
Shipping Policy
SHIPPING ADDRESS: *Please* make sure your shipping address on Etsy and your shipping address on your payment method match. This is important because for orders paid with a credit card or PayPal, I am required to ship to the address provided with your payment, so if that does not match your Etsy shipping address, your item may end up in the wrong place. *If an item goes to the wrong address because of such a discrepancy and it cannot be recovered, no refund will be possible. If the item is recovered, additional shipping charges will apply to re-send the item to your correct address. *I will take responsibility for any errors on my part, including refunding and/or replacing items. HANDLING: Unless otherwise noted in my shop announcement, all orders will be shipped within 2 business days (does not include weekends or holidays) of receiving payment, though because many of my items are made to order, I can often ship your order within 24 hours. *Our preferred shipping option is USPS Priority Flat Rate Shipping which includes tracking and $100 insurance. If you would like to purchase additional insurance, I require notification upon purchase convo. *I will share the tracking number with you as soon as the shipping label is printed. If for any reason there is a delay before I can get to the post office, I will contact you by email and you will have the option of receiving a full refund if the time frame does not fit your needs. *If you would like to request alternate shipping methods to the ones detailed below, I am happy to explore the cost of the method you would prefer. Please contact me *before* you purchase your items to arrange for special shipping - any additional shipping charges will be added to the item's shipping cost before purchase. ARE YOU IN A HURRY? If you need your order rushed, please contact me before placing your order. I can upgrade your order to priority or express shipping, and will adjust the shipping cost for you prior to purchase. I can also provide an estimated time frame for rush custom orders. Please also know that I *cannot* guarantee delivery by a specific date except with express mail - I have no control or influence over the US Postal Service, so all I can do is provide the estimated arrival date based on the USPS estimates. SHIPPING WITHIN THE US: Orders within the US are sent via USPS First Class Parcel and include Delivery Confirmation with a tracking number. Packages are not always scanned at every stop by the post office, but this helps to keep track of your purchases until they reach your door. SHIPPING OUTSIDE THE US: I send all international orders via USPS First Class International. This is the least expensive shipping method, and unfortunately, tracking cannot be added. Shipping methods that include tracking are *much* more expensive than most customers prefer, so I have selected First Class International to keep the cost as low as possible. If you would like to request a different shipping method, feel free to contact me and I can look into the rates for you. First Class International can take anywhere between 2 weeks to 6 weeks to arrive, depending on your location and the speed of your country's postal service. COUNTRY RESTRICTIONS: Many countries restrict what can and cannot be mailed into the country. If you are unsure of your country's restrictions, please check before placing your order. If you purchase an item that I am aware is not allowed to be shipped to your country, I will cancel your order and provide a full refund. If I am not aware that your country restricts an item, and the order comes back to me after an attempt at shipping, I will refund the item cost only - not the shipping cost. There are too many restrictions for me to know all of them, so it is your responsibility for knowing your country's rules. POSTAGE RATES: My postage rates take into account the postage cost, a bubble mailer or envelope, packaging to protect your order during shipping (usually includes a jewelry box, tissue paper and/or cotton padding, ribbon, and a plastic bag), and labor to carefully wrap, label, and deliver each order to the post office. In January 2013, the US Postal Service increased the cost of international shipping dramatically. First Class International is still the least expensive way to ship outside the US, but in some cases the shipping cost may be more than the cost of the actual item. I am aware of this but there is nothing that can be done to lower the shipping cost. CUSTOMS & DUTY FEES: The customer is responsible for paying any additional customs fees or taxes for your purchases. Please investigate your country's laws before making a purchase if you're not sure. Items returned to me because the buyer refused to pay additional taxes or fees will be handled on a case-by-case basis, but in no case will the shipping cost be refunded.
Refund & Exchange Policy
GENERAL POLICIES: If an item you purchased turns out to be not quite what you were looking for, please contact me within 4 days of receiving the item. The receipt date will be determined by the package tracking number provided by the US Postal Service (or whichever mailing service was purchased). You may receive a store credit or a refund (minus 20% restocking fees) upon the return of undamaged goods, minus shipping fees. Return shipping fees are the responsibility of the buyer. Items must be returned in original packaging and in original condition and shipped with Delivery Confirmation. Items must be returned in their original packaging, unworn and unused. I take great pride in my work. Whether you need to return an item or exchange it for another, we will do everything we can to make the experience a pleasant one! EARRINGS: For hygiene reasons, earrings that are returned or exchanged will only receive partial refund or credit since I will need to replace the ear wires. The only exception is in the case of damage during shipping, in which case I will replace the damaged items (see below for details). If you have any questions before you purchase any earrings from my shop, please do not hesitate to contact me! RETURNS: I will refund the purchase price of the item minus the shipping charge once I receive the item back in the mail. The customer is responsible for paying for shipping to return the item. Return shipping fees are the responsibility of the buyer. Items must be returned in original packaging and in original condition and shipped with Delivery Confirmation. Items must be returned in their original packaging, unworn and unused. EXCHANGES: We will credit the purchase price of the returned item(s) minus 20% restocking fees and the shipping charge toward your exchange, and if the new order costs less than the original, I will refund you the difference. New shipping charges do apply for the new item you will receive, and the customer is responsible for paying for shipping to return the items. REPAIRS: Repairs are handled on a case by case basis. If the problem is due to craftsmanship, the repair or comprable replacement piece of jewelry will be free of charge. Other repairs will be priced individually. ITEMS DAMAGED IN SHIPPING: While we always hope for the best, sometimes packages are mishandled in the shipping process, damaging the items inside. Neither you nor I can control this, but I will assume responsibility for replacing or refunding your order in these situations. If your order was damaged in shipping, please contact me with a photo of the item and damaged package before shipping it back to me. Whether you opt to return or exchange the item, I will credit you the full item cost, your original shipping cost, and the cost to ship the damaged item back to me when you include your shipping receipt with the item. Damaged items must be returned to me in order to qualify for a refund or exchange, and a receipt for the shipping cost must be included to receive a credit for that amount.
Other Policies
PRIVACY POLICY: You can expect complete confidentiality and I will never give out your personal information voluntarily. PHOTOGRAPHS: I do my best to describe an item as accurately as possible. Natural sea glass and gemstones have unique shapes and qualities, so except in cases specified in the description, all stones and beads in a listing are the exact one(s) you will receive. All photographs are copyright La Soucique Studio. For necklaces, the chain you receive may differ from the one in the photograph, but will always be of the material stated. CAN YOU RECREATE A SOLD ITEM? I cannot always recreate pieces that I have made in the past, but if you like one of my sold pieces, I may be able to replicate it for you. Just message me and we can work on this for you. CUSTOM DESIGN REQUESTS: If you have an idea of a specific piece you are looking for, or slight changes to an item already listed in my shop, send me a message and I would be more than happy to custom design something for you. MATCHING ITEMS: I can often create bracelets, earrings, etc. to match pieces listed for sale. If you would like to see a matching set, please contact me with your request including any details and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I will always send photos of the matching items before you purchase so you can see the finished products. PRODUCT CARE: Please know that each piece is handmade, and are made of only natural materials so they must be treated with care, in particular, sea glass and gemstones have the possibility of being naturally fragile and must be cared for as such. For example, we do not recommend wearing our pieces when they may come into contact with caustic materials (such as swimming pool water/chlorine bleach) or in high movement activities such as sports. CHILD SAFETY WARNING: Please know that my jewelry is not intended for children, and while I make every attempt to avoid materials that contain lead, no jeweler can guarantee that natural products are 100% lead free. Small pieces may be a choking hazard for small children, so please take care with the storage of these pieces.
