Beanie Hat Hand Knitted with Cotton and Silk - QUARTZ MOUNTAIN by Kat
QUARTZ MOUNTAIN is part of our 'Oregon Mountains' series. The name 'quartz mountain' seems to be very versatile, since at least five peaks in Oregon are named this way. What a great name for a versatile hat that can be worn with an elegant outfit, or a casual one. Kat hand-knitted it in a simple stitch to showcase the yarn. With a combination of 43% Cotton, 8% Silk, 17% Rayon and 32% Acrylic, it varies between the shiny parts and bigger cotton slubs. The color is silver-gray. This item is unique because: This item is unique because: While this hat is made from commercially available yarn, we doubt that it could be reproduced in the exact way, since every knitter's stitches are unique. Much care and work has gone into this hat, and while it could be machine washed on delicate, hand washing is recommended. Hand-washing is actually rather simple: Put the item in a sink with warm water and a little bit of detergent or shampoo and let it sit for a little. Gently knead it a bit, rinse and gently wring it, and roll it into a towel to absorb the remaining moisture. Then let it air dry flat. Please do not hang it up to dry. It might stretch because wool is a natural fiber. For hand-dyed items, you can put a little bit of vinegar into the rinse for better color retention.
