Slouch Beanie Hat Hand Knitted, Bamboo & Silk Yarn - ESTACADA by Anja
ESTACADA is part of our 'Oregon Town' series. The origin of the city's name is disputed. One explanation is that the city's name is a corruption of the name of a local resident, Esther Katie, but there is no evidence that she existed. Anja hand-knitted this hat from a yarn made of Silk and Bamboo in a beautiful blue with a hint of purple. The hat is knitted in a lace pattern and is super-soft and cozy. This item is unique because: While this hat is made from commercially available yarn, we doubt that it could be reproduced in the exact way, since every knitter's stitches are unique. Much care and work has gone into this hat and needs to be hand-washed. Hand-washing is actually rather simple: Put the item in a sink with warm water and a little bit of detergent or shampoo and let it sit for a little. Gently knead it a bit, rinse and gently wring it, and roll it into a towel to absorb the remaining moisture. Then let it air dry flat. Please do not hang it up to dry. It might stretch because cotton and linen are natural fibers. For hand-dyed items, you can put a little bit of vinegar into the rinse for better color retention.
