This birdhouse is built from slightly rough cedar planks, giving it a rustic look and feel. The rough planks are also easier for the birds to cling to when they come in for a landing. This cedar birdhouse is designed to attract a wide variety of different wild birds. The birdhouse is approximately 6 inches wide, 6 inches deep, and 8 inches tall at the roof peak. There is is a longer, 11 inch plank on the back that has two holes for mounting. The birdhouse can be mounted using screws, or by using a piece of cord to go around a tree. The hole is 1 3/4 inches, to accommodate a variety of wild birds. All the pieces of the birdhouse are both glued with non-toxic, weatherproof glue and nailed with galvanized finishing nails. The bottom also opens for cleaning out the cedar birdhouse every season!
