Shooting star necklace, from a hot day to a cool night: Has bits of coral, an intricate focal bead and a seed-beaded bail.
Hot summer colors sizzle around your neck then dive into the cool evening blue of the seed beaded bail and focal bead. The bail is accented by bits of red coral and the focal bead, a marvel of intricacy, has red and orange raised dots on to coordinate with the coral. The seed beaded bail makes a fitting complement to the nearly hypnotic focus bead. Bail is about 1 3/4 in long and is double layered, weaving its way up the front, over the necklace and down the back to gently hold the elaborate star-like focal bead in place. The seed bead woven bail is long enough to be soft, like evening air; it is flexible and is dressed up with a bit of sculptural seed beading, tiny coral sticks and a little shell star. Focal bead is handmade by another artist, the bail is handmade by me. The necklace is strung on multi-strand cable. Length of the necklace is 18 in. and it has a 5 3/4 in. extension of copper colored chain. The two endcaps of the piece are marvels of detail. They and the S hook closure are copper.
