The Working Man’s Belt by American Bench Craft is 1.5” wide and more than 1/8” thick. The buckle we use with our Working Man’s Belt is secured with snap fasteners, so the buckle can easily be switched out with your own custom buckle if you prefer.
Our black leather Working Man’s Belt is available with stainless steel hardware, and our brown leather belt is available with solid brass. Our belts are heavy-duty, rugged and extremely durable. They can be stylishly worn with any pair of jeans, khaki pants or shorts.
Proper Sizing: PLEASE READ BELOW
For proper sizing we suggest one size larger than you normal pant size, so if you typically wear 32” waist pants, please select one of our size 34 belts.
The Process:
Your Working Man’s Belt is constructed from a single strip of our premium, full grain, vegetable-tanned leather, which is cut to size once you place your order (please contact us for custom sizing). We stamp and finish your belt using simple hand tools for an entirely handcrafted product, proudly Made-in-the-USA.
Why a Single Strip of Leather?
Simple products are more durable. Fewer parts equal less susceptibility to failure. The single piece design ensures our belts will last for years to come.
How can you tell our Leather is Full Grain?
Upon close inspection, you’ll notice subtle scars, brands and marks that ensure your belt was made from full grain leather. Hides are split into numerous layers; however, each hide has only one Full Grain layer. The Full Grain layer is the very top of the hide, and is the most sought after cut because it is the strongest layer and develops a unique patina, which allows the leather to improve with age and use.
The subtle imperfections characteristic of full grain leather ensure the authenticity of your belt, and that a completely all-natural and unaltered material was used in its construction, making your belt incredibly durable and one-of-a-kind.
Why Vegetable-Tanned Leather?
We use only vegetable-tanned leather with our belts, because only vegetable-tanned leather develops a unique patina, is environmentally friendly, requires skilled craftsmen to produce and dye, and smells like leather, not chemicals. All of this ensures our belts are of the highest quality and craftsmanship, and are built durable to survive and thrive in any environment.
Why NO Thread Stitching?
Both thread stitching and metal snaps offer strong holds, however we have found snaps hold up better against the friction that results from your belt being worn every day. Heat and friction cause thread to fray. Heat and friction simply polish metal; making snaps a unique, strong and attractive alternative to thread stitching.
