Hand Knitted Beanie Hat with Beads, Merino, Alpaca - JOSEPH by Anja
JOSEPH is part of our Oregon Towns series. Originally named Silver Lake and Lake City, in 1880 the city formally named itself for Nez Perce Chief Joseph. Anja knitted this hat in a self-desigend pattern with cables and moss stitch. The yarn is 60% Merino, 30% Rayon and 10% Alpaca and is a soft, burnt orange in color. Anja then added acrylic beads for a little sparkle. This item is unique because: While this hat is made from commercially available yarn, we doubt that it could be reproduced in the exact way, since every knitter's stitches are unique. Much care and work has gone into this hat, and it needs to be hand washed. Hand-washing is actually rather simple: Put the item in a sink with warm water and a little bit of detergent or shampoo and let it sit for a little. Gently knead it a bit, rinse and gently wring it, and roll it into a towel to absorb the remaining moisture. Then let it air dry flat. Please do not hang it up to dry.
